How To Get Rid Of Distractions Starting Today!

Has it happened to you too? Do you get easily distracted?

Sometimes you might even feel like Dory from finding for Nemo 🐠🐠, who forgets what she was doing every single time she receives an external stimulus.

Maybe you think that it is something that you cannot change, you think that it is something that is in your personality and that you cannot stop distracting yourself no matter what you do.

Well hello coaches! I have good news for you:

YES, you can improve,
YES, you can avoid distractions and optimize your time because as every aspect of life, you can learn and grow.

Today I want to share with you 3 simple ways to get rid of distractions and be more productive:

1) Identify your distractions.

The first thing you have to do is identify your distractions because if you do not know what disrupts you, you would never be able to tackle it.

Start being aware every single time you feel you are distracted, and ask yourself these questions:

• What were you doing?
• Why did you stop?
• What were you thinking?
• How do you feel right now?

2) Put your focus on your surroundings.

Perhaps now if you are still in quarantine, or if working at home is difficult for you, it could be because there is no separation of the workplace and the rest of the things in the house. 🏡

Having a clean and organized surrounding increases our motivation and productivity.

Analyse your surroundings 👀 and answer these questions:

• How do you feel?
• Is it a good environment? Or do you feel overwhelmed?
• How can you improve it?
• What do you need to work at ease and feel in peace?

3) Set up time blocks.

For you to be less distracted by everything that comes up through the day, you can set up some time blocks where you will work with plain focus.

When setting the blocks, you must have in mind that you are committing with yourself. You are establishing limits and boundaries for you to work better.

It is crucial that you take it seriously, and put everything else aside, sound off your phone, do not check it every five minutes.

You could write down the following affirmations to feel better with yourself:

• I can control my time.
• I can choose if I get distracted or not.
• I am creating my own space for me to work better.
• I can put my phone aside and focus on what I want to do.

Follow these simple tips on your daily basis and you will see how the distractions start going away because you are allowing yourself to prioritize your time over your surroundings.
