How do I join computer/device audio on Zoom?

Test audio when joining a meeting

If you haven’t enabled the setting to automatically join by computer audio, you can test your speaker and microphone right before you enter a Zoom meeting:

1. When joining a meeting, click Test Speaker and Microphone.
   The meeting will display a pop-up window to test your speakers.
2. If you don’t hear the ringtone, use the drop-down menu or click No, Try Another Speaker to switch speakers until you hear the ringtone. Click Yes to continue to the microphone test.
3. If you don’t hear an audio replay, use the drop-down menu or click No, Try Another Microphone to switch microphones until you hear the reply. Click Yes when you hear the replay.
4. Click Join with Computer Audio to exit the speaker and microphone test.

Note: During a meeting, you can also click the arrow icon next to Mute/Unmute in the meeting controls toolbar to choose a different speaker or microphone.

Test audio settings before a meeting

1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
2. In the top-right corner, click your profile picture, then click Settings.
3. Click the Audio tab.
4. In the Speaker section, click Test Speaker to play a test tone.
5. If you cannot hear it, select a different speaker from the drop-down menu or adjust the Volume.
6. In the Microphone section, click Test Mic to test your microphone.
   Your audio will start recording and you will see the Input Level bar move when Zoom is picking up audio. The audio will play back. You can select another microphone from the menu or adjust the input level as needed.
7. (Optional) Select the Automatically adjust microphone volume check box if you want Zoom to adjust the input volume automatically.

Troubleshoot your microphone

Join a test meeting to test audio settings

1. In a mobile browser, go to http://zoom.us/test.
2. Launch the Zoom mobile app to join the test meeting.
   Note: If this is the first Zoom meeting that you’ve joined, you will be asked to give access to your microphone.
3. To join audio, tap Wifi or Cellular Data.
   Zoom will automatically test your device’s speaker and microphone.
4. Tap Done to exit the test meeting.

Join with device audio in a meeting

1. Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
2. Start or join a meeting.
   Note: If this is the first Zoom meeting that you’ve joined, you will be asked to give access to your microphone.
3. Tap one of the following options:
   • Wifi or Cellular Data: Connects audio through the internet
   • Dial in: Provides options to dial in to the Zoom meeting via telephone
   • Call My Phone: Calls your phone to join the meeting. This option is not available if the meeting host doesn’t have an audio plan.
4. (Optional) In the bottom-left corner of the meeting controls toolbar, tap the microphone icon to mute and unmute.
5. (Optional) In the meeting controls toolbar, tap the More icon , then tap Disconnect Audio if you need to join the audio with a different method.
