Darius Staples

I’m from Cincinnati, Ohio. I spent 5 years in Chicago, Il where I attended an International Hospitality/Business school called Kendall College at National Louis University to study business. In my experience there I was culture-shocked to find out that around 80% of my student body were international student who traveled from countries like Dubai, Kazakhstan, France, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Russia, and all throughout Africa as well. My college roommate was a guy from Israel. I felt a bit uncomfortable at first as a minority in this situation but once I began making friends and realizing that a lot of people around the world are just like me it became the greatest educational experience of my life. A lot of the students were younger than me at the time and new to the States so I was asked to guide them and be a point of reference for them in the US. I counseled many of them while they were feeling homesick, encouraged many of them to stay focused and to finish school rather than dropping out and returning to their home country. This experience opened my eyes to helping diverse groups of people and that’s when I knew I had a gift of helping people. This inspired me to start my own non-profit as well as volunteering and counseling in other non-profit organizations. In 2020 my wife and I felt it was our calling to expand what we’ve been doing in our community to helping a whole new community of people in Houston, Texas. We believe it is our personal responsibility to impact the world in the most positive way possible and introduce people to a better, healthier way of living as well as molding the next generation of leaders.
